New Custom Built Secondary Dwelling in Worongary.

Experience the beauty of the custom built secondary dwelling that will inspire. This 4-bedroom, 2-storey home features multiple living and entertaining zones, a master ensuite, and a walk-in robe. Additionally, it includes a large outdoor covered balcony and a spacious double garage with a newly paved access driveway. With high ceilings and picture windows, it boasts stunning views of the surrounding bushland. The flooring is hybrid, beautifully complemented by a stained hardwood staircase.

Design + Construct, Collaborators, Designer

Brett & Shantell, the homeowners, partnered with our team to make selections before commencement and ensured plenty of time for ordering and delivery. The project was designed and constructed in collaboration with QUBD and the Risen team.

Both Brett and Shantell regularly visited throughout the build, and we had regular site meetings and discussions as we progressed.

Why Did They Decide to Commence/Their Story

The project lasted approximately 26 weeks and was completed on schedule so that the family could settle in for Christmas.

This was not just a construction project, but a journey for a young family with two kids. They were in a position to build a new home on acreage, as their parents lived in the secondary dwelling/cottage, making it a project filled with personal significance.

So, the existing main dwelling was demolished to create a brand new one.

Challenges

The project was not without its challenges. The site was extremely steep, requiring the creation of a driveway by knocking down about 200m worth of trees. The distance from the road meant that a significant amount of manpower (and cranes) were involved in getting materials to the site, all while ensuring the safety of the surrounding trees and powerlines, highlighting the complexity and dedication involved in the project.
