The customer wanted to transform their sandstone-clad cottage into a modern masterpiece while preserving its charm. They enlisted Risen Developments (Risen) and his team to create a new carport, master bedroom, ensuite, and robe that would cleverly connect the new and old parts of the property.

Risen’s team successfully created a modern, unique carport and accommodation structure that blended perfectly with the original building. The connection between the new and old parts of the cottage was intentionally prominent to showcase the fusion of the two time periods.

The new carport and accommodation featured unique shapes, large scale, and high ceilings, adding to the property’s charm. Craig and his team didn’t stop there. They worked on the internal areas, replacing lighting, linings, VJ panelling, and repainting throughout. They also added a separate parents’ wing to the property, which included a parents’ master suite, ensuite, robe, separate lounge, private courtyard, and direct access to the pool for midnight sneaky swims.

Risen’s team’s magic touch didn’t stop there. They replaced the windows and connected cladding over the old brickwork to create a seamless connection between the new and old parts of the cottage.
